Band of Brothers won the toss and elected to bat on what looked to be a good batting surface, and their decision was rewarded with an excellent opening partnership of 117.

Brad Reynolds led the way with a superb 65 from 62 balls, striking nine boundaries, while Tom Boucher provided the perfect foil with a composed 46. After reaching 124-2, Band of Brothers lost momentum as wickets fell regularly, slipping to 153-6. However, Will Bruce (46*), alongside Oliver Courbally-Stourton (31*), produced an unbeaten seventh-wicket partnership to steer the innings to a competitive 225-6 from their 45 overs.

The King’s School made a steady start in reply and looked to be in control at times, but Band of Brothers fought back well with the ball. Harry Bee (2-31) and Reuben Collingwood (2-17) were the pick of the bowlers, with Dan Johnston and Nick Connor claiming a wicket apiece, while Harry Smeed bowled an economical eight-over spell.

Unfortunately, Band of Brothers were left to rue their fielding, with five dropped catches proving costly throughout the innings. Despite giving away those chances, they continued to battle hard and kept the pressure on until the final over.

In the end, The King’s School finished on 225-8, leaving the match tied after an absorbing contest. While Band of Brothers will be disappointed not to have converted their opportunities in the field, there were plenty of positives to take from an excellent batting display and a determined bowling performance.
