BB V Old Amplefordians

LOST BY 86 RUNS

The B.B. fell short against Old Amplefordians today at Torry Hill.

Despite winning the toss and choosing to bowl, the Brethren allowed the OA’s to settle in against some loose bowling and a few chances put down in the field. Highlight was guest player Henry Collins taking a classy 5-38 with the ball. Get the man a candidate form! Old Amplefordians reached 261-7 declared after 44 overs.

With the bat, it appeared that the mammoth run chase was well and truly on thanks to an explosive start from Brother Tom Burnap. Sixes and fours all round the park, ably supported by various batters at the non-strikers’ end. Ultimately, he played one shot too many was caught in the deep on 82.

From there, the B.B. never quite recovered and were all out for 175. Congratulations to @oacc on a well-deserved win.

Our next fixture against the Royal Engineers at Torry Hill on Sunday 31 May.
