Band of Brothers CC Welcomes a New Chief
Seb Pollington, who takes over as 11th Chief of Kent’s leading wandering cricket club, Band of Brothers CC, is a former British Army Colonel and longstanding servant of club cricket.
Seb’s succession as Chief, and Chairman of the Benevolent Board, marks 40 years since he joined the Club (1986), after Tonbridge School, and he is a resident of Tunbridge Wells. His father, three sons and wife (honorary) are all members of the club.
He has played School, University, League, Sandhurst, Army and Old Tonbridgian cricket, is a life member of Cambridge University Cricket Club and an honorary member of the Hawks Club. He has led overseas cricket tours in Australia, India and ran a side in Cyprus’s Cricket League (ICC Tier 3). Sport is central to his life and career in which he also served a decade as Chairman of British Army Modern Pentathlon, the military event at the Olympic Games.
His career in the Armed Forces, on active service and in senior appointments including as a British Defence Attache, also spans 40 years. Outside of Defence, he is a leadership advisor, Associate of Canterbury-based leadership development company (Performance Catalyst Ltd, founded by former first-class cricketer Will Jefferson); and a mentor on Homerton College’s Changemakers Programme for students at Cambridge University. He is also a published artist with works exhibited in Britain, Europe and US.
Seb’s wife (Antonia) has administered Junior BB Cricket in support of the Club’s youth fixtures in behalf of the Club’s Benevolent Board.
